Who are you?
My name is Michel Salloum,
I am a multidisciplinary Animation Director and Educator. operating at the intersection of design, motion and code.
My background is rooted in graphic design and typography, which naturally evolved into motion.
Today, my workflow is completely fluid, I move seamlessly from traditional hand-drawn frames to building out complex 3D setups, using whatever tools are necessary to pull off a highly stylized result.

What do you do?
2D A
While I identify primarily as a 2D animator, I am medium
agnostic, moving across hand-drawn animation, custom typography, and 3D setups depending on whatever the creative demands.

Why would an animator use code?
Because it so satisfying to watch a system work perfectly.
it makes me faster, eliminate repetitive tasks, and unlock new creative possibilities.
I also love to merge high-end animation with state-machine systems to build living, interactive designs.
For me, code is my secret weapon to create a better, faster way to bring a vision to life.

How does teaching fit into the picture?
Teaching forced me to be better, as I need to have the deepest understadning of concept in order to explain it.
I pour my expertise into labor-intensive, hand-crafted animated presentations, and when a presentation woudn’t cut it, I will code a custom interactive tool to solve it.
Currently teach at Istitotu Marangoi in Dubai.

Like a dream, I care deeply about my craft. I leave no loose ends and always aim to create something I am proud of.
